In-House & Alumni 2010 – 2011 Enrollment Process

Enrollment for currently enrolled families and alumni families – December 15, 2009 to January 15, 2010.  Priority is given first to currently enrolled children, then to their siblings, and then to alumni families. Enrollment Application Forms and application fees, if applicable, must be submitted no later than January 15, 2010.  Enrollment is confirmed electronically, the week of January 18, 2010. Families then confirm acceptance of enrollment by submitting their Enrollment Fee by February 5, 2010.

2010 – 2011 Open Enrollment Process

Open Enrollment is available for the general public – January 18, 2010 to February 4, 2010.  New families may submit their Application Forms and applicable fees between January 18 and February 4, in person or by mail, to be received no later than February 4.  A lottery is held on February 5, 2010 to fill remaining spaces for 2010-2011 enrollment.  Placement is offered for enrollment and sent electronically, the week of February 8, 2010.  Families then confirm acceptance of enrollment by submitting their Enrollment Fee by February 15, 2010.

Financial Information for the 2010-2011 Preschool Year

Application Fee
The Application Fee is $75 per child, for the 2010-2011 preschool Year.  It is due when submitting the Application Form.  This fee is waived for currently enrolled families.

Enrollment Fee
The Enrollment Fee is equivalent to one month’s full tuition and is due no later than February 5, 2010 for In-House Enrollment and no later than February 15, 2010 for Open Enrollment.

Program Fee
The Program Fee is $150 for the 2010-2011 preschool year and is due no later than May 1, 2010. This fee is dedicated to each child’s supplies and materials needs. (All craft/art supplies, cleaning supplies including vegetable-based organic soap for hand-washing, cloth towels for each child, green bathroom paper products and classroom materials.  This fee does not include shared parent snack supplies which are requested seasonally or as needed per teacher request).

Service Fee
All families are required to give at least 4 service hours annually (through school community workdays, committee work, work on annual fund raiser, pro-bono work or other services), or pay a $75 Service Fee each school year.

All fees listed above are non-refundable and must be paid as a condition of enrollment.

Tuition Schedule

  • 2 day Program — $235 per month (annual tuition of $2115)
  • 3 day Program — $340 per month (annual tuition of $3060
  • 4 day Program — $450 per month (annual tuition of $4050)

Tuition may be paid monthly (due by the 1st of the month beginning with August 1st, 2010 and paid through April 1st, 2011 — 9 consecutive payments), or by using one of the two options below.  Tuition Discounts are available for those selecting early tuition payment schedules:

Two-Installment Payment Schedule
There is a 3% discount available for families paying in full, in two equal installments, the first, by August 1, 2010 and the second, before December 1, 2010.

Single Payment Schedule
There is a 5% discount available for families paying the full annual tuition in a single payment by August 1, 2010.

Class Placement Policy

Many factors, including child age, child readiness (overall development/social and emotional maturity) and carefully balanced classes are considered when determining classroom placement for children.  In order to achieve the best classroom environment and placement for each child – class placement is determined by The Children’s Garden Preschool.

Classes

Sparrows
Our young twos class. These classes each have a teacher child ratio of 2 to 10. 2 day program — T/Th each week; 2 day program – W/F each week; or 3 day program – T/W/Th each week.

Cardinals
Our multi-age older twos and threes class. There are two Cardinal classes.  Cardinals I class has a teacher child ratio of 2 to 10, with Cardinals II having a ratio of 2 to 12. 3 day program – T/W/Th each week.

Robins
Our multi-age older threes and fours class. This class has a teacher child ratio of 2 to 12 for Robins I and 2 to 15 for Robins II. 3 day program — T/ W/Th each week.

Owls
Our Pre-K  older fours and Kindergarten fives class. This class is for children who are ready for the Pre-K/Kindergarten classroom environment and curriculum.  The Owls class has a teacher child ratio of 2 to 16.  4 day program — T/W/Th/F each week.
